IHG to operate 6 Luxury & Lifestyle brands in KSA by 2028, says top official The hotel group InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia, with a senior executive stating that the company aims to operate six luxury and lifestyle brands in the Kingdom by 2028. The strategy reflects the group’s ambition to strengthen its footprint in one of the fastest-growing tourism markets in the region, in line with Saudi Arabia’s broader economic diversification efforts under Vision 2030. Focus on luxury and lifestyle growth IHG is expected to focus on high-end hospitality segments, including luxury resorts, urban lifestyle hotels, and premium branded residences. The expansion is also aligned with rising demand driven by major infrastructure projects, tourism development zones, and international events hosted in the Kingdom. Strategic importance of Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia has become a key market for global hotel operators due to its large-scale investments in tourism destinations such as the Red Sea Project, NEOM, and Diriyah. Industry leaders view the country as one of the most dynamic hospitality growth markets globally over the next decade. Competition in a growing market The expansion also comes amid increasing competition among international hotel groups seeking to secure early positions in new Saudi destinations. Luxury brands are particularly targeting flagship projects in Riyadh, Jeddah, and coastal tourism hubs.
